Stay...
Stay close to me
eyes shut tight
images flashing bright
memories playing
like a cine camera
or a still
Stay close to me
as I weep and fight
the demons inside.
Struggling to find
a way out
voicing the unvoiceable
speaking the words
the unsaid stories
of truth and hurt
of yester years
Stay close to me
as I yield
to your will
speaking, crying out
voicing your name
asking the angels
to come with
healing wings
Stay close
as I whimper the pain
exhausted
with more of the same
Stay close
to see the new day
the transformation
the path less taken
the pain faced
and walked through
the touching of anointing
the angels singing
the heavens dancing
Stay close
and
see miracles happening

ReplyDeleteThank you Mary, there is always hope.
DeleteI, too, love how hopeful and ready to witness miracles this poem rose to by its closing lines. I have CFS too - take heart - even if it doesnt go away, eventually one learns how to live with it, by trying to stay within the limits and not push oneself too hard. I am glad you are another person who looks for the rainbow, and the positive. It is always there, when we look for it! Be well.
ReplyDeleteBe well to Sherry. I think when you have our illness it is so important to try and look for the positive.
DeleteYour poem...beautiful cries...they are music to God's ears.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanne, your words have touched my heart.
